Check a Cardano address — read-only.
Paste any Cardano mainnet address — it starts with addr1 — and we'll read what the public blockchain says about it, through the public Koios API. No wallet connect. No seed phrase. Nothing to sign. Addresses are never stored — not logged, not written to disk.
What this checker can never do
It can never ask for your seed phrase or private keys — there is no field for them. It can never connect a wallet — there is nothing to connect. It can never move funds, sign, or approve anything — it only reads. A checker that wants your keys or a wallet connect isn't checking. It's fishing.
What happens when you check
- Your browser checks the address format instantly (addr1…, 103 characters for a base address, 58 for an enterprise one).
- It calls our one endpoint — GET /api/check?addr=… — with just the address. The server validates it again, hard. Bad input gets a 400 before anything else happens.
- We ask the public Koios API — a community-run Cardano indexer — for the balance and transaction count. Read-only, same data any block explorer shows.
- The result passes through a 60-second in-memory cache and is then gone. Nothing is written to disk. Addresses are never logged.
What it shows today — and what's next
v0 shows whether the address has on-chain history, its ADA balance, and its transaction count. Next comes the NIGHT decode: your tranche schedule, what's redeemable right now, and the question nobody else answers — whether your claim ever materialized from the redemption supply at all.
When you're ready to act, use the official portal — redeem.midnight.gd for NIGHT. We link official first, everywhere, and we never stand between you and it.
Questions people ask — or should
Do you store my address?
No. Addresses are never stored — not logged, not written to disk, not sent anywhere except the public blockchain query. There's no account, no cookie, no analytics. Paste it, read the result, it's gone.
Why address-only? Why is there no wallet connect?
Because wallet connect is how fake checkers hurt people — one malicious connection can drain a wallet. Address-paste is read-only by construction: the worst thing a paste can do is show you your own balance. If a checker demands a wallet connect for a balance lookup, close the tab.
Is this the official checker?
No — ClaimAid is an INDEPENDENT helper, not affiliated with Midnight, Cardano, or any project. Checking here is free and stores nothing. When you act, act at the official portal, typed in by you.
What does it cost?
Nothing today. If we ever add fee-based help, the fee is disclosed before any action — that's the pledge on the about page. Checking will always be free.
